Hiring: Financial Analyst - Intermediate / Senior

Location: Edmonton, AB
Duration: 6-12 Months
Pay Rate: CAD $45-$60/hr
Work Arrangement: Remote within Alberta, with occasional onsite meetings

Job Summary:

Seeking a Financial Analyst to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, contract management, and audit activities within a public-sector environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare financial forecasts, budget reports, accruals, and journal entries.

Review vendor invoices, manage purchase orders, and support contract administration.

Perform financial analysis, reconciliations, cost modeling, and variance reporting.

Support audits, maintain financial documentation, and ensure compliance with accounting policies.

Identify financial risks, resolve discrepancies, and recommend process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and invoice processing.

Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP.

Experience with accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP; knowledge of SAP Ariba and 1GX is an asset.

Senior-level candidates should have strong experience in reconciliations, audit support, financial controls, and complex accounting activities. CPA designation is an asset.
