Role overview

Position Summary
We are currently looking for a highly motivated Class 3 or higher Boom Truck Driver, in training.Class 3 or higher drivers’ licence with air brakes endorsement required. For the right candidate, Slegg will provide the necessary training and ticketing to operate the crane.The Boom Truck Operator transports building and construction materials to job sites and places these materials in requested work locations, using the truck mounted crane. The shifts are Monday – Friday 6:30am - 3pm and the wage range is $29.00 - $35.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities

Perform pre-trip truck inspections and notify when maintenance is needed.
Transport loads in a professional manner, following the road rules and representing the company to the highest standards.
Ensure cleanliness of truck interior and exterior.
Verify load security and accuracy.
Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency.
Working with a dynamic delivery team of drivers and drivers helpers to deliver customer orders.
Safe operation of the boom/ mobile crane while loading and unloading.
Completion of a wide range of delivery types including rooftop loads, ground drops, drywall and insulation deliveries and packs inside jobsite buildings.
Communicate with customers and other trades on construction sites.
Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications

Valid Class 3 or higher driver’s license with air brakes endorsement required.
Crane experience a plus, but not mandatory.
Level A or B crane ticket considered an asset. Training provided to the right candidate.
Clean driver's abstract.
Practical written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Basic hand tool skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs.
Sitting and driving for long periods.
Frequently climbing up and downstairs.
Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
