Pay Grid:Salary Range 2 ($25.89 to $33.98) per hour + eligible for wage top-up bonus
Reporting to: Manager of Childcare Services
Summary of Duties:
Under the
direction of the Manager of Childcare Services the Early Childhood Educator
ensures the well-being of all children and provides support with the
educational program delivery.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
• Develop,
implement and lead programs and activities for children.
• Provide
quality care by guiding, encouraging, and supervising children both indoors and
outdoors, ensuring
children’s
safety and well-being at all times.
• Ensure all
operational policies are established and followed in accordance with the
Provincial Child Care
Licensing
Board, and Community Care Facility Act.
• Plan,
carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate, activities and experiences
in harmony with the center’s
philosophy.
• Ensure
guidance of children’s behavior that encourages positive self-concept.
• Keep up to
date with early childhood education and advocacy developments.
• Assist in
housekeeping duties to ensure facilities and equipment are neat, safe and
clean/sanitized.
• Perform
other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
• Previous
experience is an asset, performing responsibilities listed above including case
management, social
work/social
welfare, family studies, infant mental health, early childhood development,
and/or special education.
• Early
Childhood Educator certification with an infant and toddler specialization.
• Possession
of a valid Early Childhood Educator license or a willingness to obtain.
•
Understanding of Lil’wat culture & language an asset.
•
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Ability to
work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
• Motivated
self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.
• Highly
professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all
stakeholders, clients, and
Members.
• Maintain
confidentiality of all information related to the center’s children, their
parents, and staff.
• Must be
able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector,
if required by
