THE ROLE

STRIVE is working with a well-established organization seeking aPump and Generator Heavy Equipment Technicianto join their team in Brampton, ON.

You will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing diesel generators, diesel pumps, and electric submersible pumps. This is primarily a shop-based position with occasional customer support and field service as needed. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong diesel and electrical troubleshooting skills who enjoys diagnosing equipment issues and completing quality repairs in a safety-focused environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel generators, pumps, and related heavy equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to identify root causes and complete effective repairs
  • Perform equipment testing and quality checks to ensure all repairs meet performance and safety standards
  • Assist with customer service requests by providing technical guidance and occasional support at customer locations when required
  • Maintain detailed service documentation, including repair notes, inspections, and maintenance records
  • Ensure the shop area, tools, and equipment are maintained in a clean and organized condition
  • Follow company safety procedures and contribute to a positive, safety-focused workplace culture
  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams to ensure equipment needs are addressed efficiently
  • Stay current with evolving equipment technology, repair techniques, and diagnostic processes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience working with diesel equipment or heavy machinery
  • Experience with generators, pumps, or industrial equipment is an asset
  • 421A Heavy Equipment Technician, 310T Truck & Coach Technician, or equivalent mechanical experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience with 12V DC/AC power systems and diagnostic tools
  • Familiarity with Tier 4 emissions and diesel pump systems is an asset
  • Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Safety-focused with the ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Must have a complete set of their own mechanic tools
