The Opportunity

A respected and established Edmonton law firm is seeking a General Litigation Associate to join its growing litigation team.

This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with strong foundational litigation experience who is looking to build expertise in commercial disputes while working alongside experienced litigators in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of matters, including construction disputes, credit enforcement, employment, and commercial litigation, while developing advocacy skills and increasing responsibility for client files.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with and manage litigation files from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, applications, affidavits, and other court materials
• Conduct legal research and prepare written arguments
• Attend chambers applications, discoveries, mediations, and court appearances
• Work directly with clients and opposing counsel
• Support senior litigators on complex commercial disputes
• Develop litigation strategies and provide practical legal advice

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience
• Strong interest in commercial litigation and dispute resolution
• Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
