What You'll Do

As a Healthcare Security Guard, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of one of Canada's busiest healthcare facilities by:

Providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, staff, and visitors
Conducting regular patrols throughout hospital buildings, parking areas, tunnels, grounds, and the heliport
Monitoring CCTV cameras, alarms, access control systems, and other security technology
Responding professionally to emergencies, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, Code White, Code Silver, Code Red, and other hospital incidents
Controlling access to restricted areas and verifying identification where required
Investigating incidents and preparing clear, accurate reports
Supporting crisis intervention and de-escalation using a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Assisting healthcare teams in maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
Working closely with emergency services, including Toronto Police, EMS, and Fire Services
Assisting with visitor screening, patient watches, workplace violence prevention, and personal safety escorts
Supporting emergency preparedness, evacuations, special events, and VIP visits
