THE OPPORTUNITY: Davis Martindale is one of the most recognizable accounting firms in Southwestern Ontario. For over 60 years, we have proudly served and responded to the needs of our clients. We are currently seeking an Experienced Accountant to join our growing Accounting & Assurance team at Davis Martindale. RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Planning, preparing and completing audits, reviews and compilations for for-profit entities, primarily mid to large-sized owner-managed businesses. · Planning, preparing and completing audits for non-profit organizations. · Preparing financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with the applicable accounting framework.· Preparing personal and corporate tax returns.· Preparing and analyzing a variety of financial reports on an as-needed basis, including special-purpose audit reports, projections and forecasts, cash flow analyses, and other related financial reports.· Implementing developments in Canadian accounting standards and financial regulatory requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with more than 1 year of post-designation public practice experience.· Strong auditing background with demonstrated experience completing working paper files, performing complex reconciliations, and applying strong investigative and problem-solving skills.· In-depth knowledge of Canadian GAAP/CAS/ASPE/ASNPO.· Working knowledge of various software applications, including CaseWare/CaseView, TaxPrep, Microsoft Word, and Excel.· Strong communication skills and experience liaising with partners, employees, and clients.· Strong organizational skills and commitment to meeting deadlines.
COMPENSATION:
Our competitive compensation package, including GRSP matching, great benefits, professional development and training, hybrid work schedule, and flexible work arrangements, is designed to reward success and hard work. Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 Details regarding starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
