Description:
Sun West School Division invites applications for a Behaviour Intervention Worker in Westberry Elementary School, Kindersley, SK. This is a permanent position, 6 hours per day, every student day, starting August 31, 2026.

The Behaviour Intervention Worker (BIW) supports students with complex behavioural, social-emotional, and developmental needs within a specialized classroom setting. Working collaboratively with the classroom teacher, and school-based Learning Support Team, the BIW provides direct student support, assists in the development and implementation of individualized behaviour and learning plans, and helps foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, the ability to respond effectively to crisis situations, and a commitment to student-centered, evidence-based practices.

Qualifications:
• Successful completion of a diploma/degree program in Community Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Practitioner, Child and Youth Care Worker, or equivalent from a provincially recognized institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience supporting children or youth (ages 5�21) with complex behavioural needs
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or equivalent training (train-the-trainer is an asset)
• Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) training would be an asset
• First Aid certification
• Valid driver's license

Working Conditions:
• Physically demanding role requiring standing, walking, and supporting students in active environments
• May involve responding to behavioural crises, including physical intervention as per training
• Work is primarily school-based in a specialized classroom setting
• Travel within the division may be required

Salary and benefits for this position will be in accordance with the current Collective Agreement of CUPE Local 4802.

Wage Range: $30.21 to $34.30 per hour.
