POSITION: Principal

LOCATION: Community of Sault Ste. Marie

EFFECTIVE DATE: September 2026

ANNUALIZED SALARY: $146,505 to $160,000

The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board is seeking dynamic Catholic leaders that are committed to inspiring and supporting student achievement, academic excellence and the Board's mission, vision, and strategic commitments through innovative and transformational Catholic leadership.

REQUIREMENTS:

Ontario Principals' Qualifications or currently enrolled in Part 2
Qualifications in any three of the following divisions: Primary, Junior, Intermediate, or Senior
Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Part 1
Special Education, Part 1
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and organizational skills
Demonstrated leadership experience in the areas of instruction and assessment
Active participation in a Catholic parish faith community, with a strong commitment to Catholic education and fostering the school–home–parish relationship, supported by current evidence of faith leadership
Demonstrated evidence of leadership practices and procedures aligned with the Ontario Leadership Framework (2013) and the Catholic School-Level Leadership Framework

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Specialist
Special Education, Specialist
French as a Second Language, Part 1
Experience in a Vice-Principal position
Experience working in both the elementary and secondary panel

Cover letter and résumé, including a summary of leadership positions in education and faith-related activities;
Three reference letters, including two from your most recent supervisors;
A current pastoral reference form;
A current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification;
If not yet completed, proof of enrolment in the Principal's Qualification Program, Part 2;
Most recent performance appraisal.

Interviews will be held Thursday, August 6, 2026. Applicants selected for an interview will be required to do a 10-minute presentation.
