Maintenance Assistant-Full Time, Permanent

Reporting
to the Maintenance Supervisor, The Maintenance
Assistant is responsible for assisting with general maintenance duties at AVENS
– A Community for Seniors. This can be a Part time or Full time term permanent position.
Please indicate when applying if you are looking for Part time or Full time. Duties
will include general labour and repairs, painting, general landscaping,
equipment checks, and preventative maintenance for our Aven Manor, Aven
Cottages, as well as our independent housing

Education and Experience Requirements

v Education
or training related to maintenance, preference for plumbing, mechanical and
electrical

v Ability
to lift up to 50 lbs

v Ability
to work outside for long periods of time, and to work with limited supervision

v Must
be able to obtain, provide and maintain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector
Criminal Record Check

Equivalencies of education and experience may be

Pay and Benefits

SALARY: $31.70-35.96 per hour

PENSION PLAN: eligible after 12
months of employment

GROUP BENEFITS: eligible after 3
months of employment

VACATION: Collective Agreement governs how term
vacation leave is allotted and administered

SICK LEAVE: as per the
Collective Agreement
