We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to bring advanced technical expertise and leadership to our maintenance team. This role is critical in ensuring safe, reliable, and well-maintained environments for the individuals we support across our residential and program sites.

About the Role

The Senior Maintenance Technician provides advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, contractor oversight, and preventative maintenance leadership across multiple facilities. This position replaces one of our existing maintenance roles and enhances our internal technical capacity.

You will:

  • Lead complex repairs beyond routine maintenance
  • Strengthen preventative maintenance systems and compliance
  • Mentor maintenance staff and students
  • Oversee contractors to ensure safety, quality, and cost control
  • Support urgent and after-hours maintenance response
  • Contribute to continuity and institutional knowledge within the team

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs (minor HVAC, minor electrical, minor plumbing, minor mechanical systems)
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring system issues
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and inspection logs
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario Fire Code, Building Code, and OHSA standards
  • Coordinate and monitor contractor work
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response
  • Travel between residential and program locations

What You Bring

  • 5+ years progressive maintenance experience
  • Minimum Grade 12 education.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Experience overseeing contractors and ensuring quality control
  • Knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance planning
  • Trade certification (Electrician, HVAC, Plumbing, or related field) preferred
  • Perform physical tasks, including bending, twisting, reaching, lifting light objects, and pushing carts or equipment as needed to support office functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kilograms.
  • Sitting, Standing, Walking may be required on a moderate to high frequency for each shift
  • Valid G driver’s license
  • Must provide a clear or satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening check as per agency requirements.
  • WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain)
