Account Manager

The Account Manager leads high-impact communications programs for clients, from technology, healthcare, community events, finance, and social impact. You’ll lead multiple accounts, draft communications strategies for both internal and external audiences, shape narratives, drive impactful communications strategies and meaningful media coverage, you will be the lead in having an impact for our clients. You will be known for bringing forward creative ideas that support our clients in all facets of their communications and business needs.

A Day in the Life of a Talk Shop Account Manager

• Lead day-to-day account management with a focus on strong communication, clarity, and follow-through
• Develop communications strategies that support client goals and deliver measurable impact
• Collaborate with teams to build integrated programs that cut through noise and resonate with audiences
• Draft impactful communications and PR strategies, with a focus on media relations, influencer relations, project management, client communications, and thoughtful reporting
• Secure high-value media coverage across national and business publications
• Draft and edit pitches, media briefs, thought leadership content and other client-facing materials
• Demonstrate creative problem-solving when met with an obstacle
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, managing all communications from calls to daily email updates to in-person meetings
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Account Associates, helping them prioritize and grow in their roles
• Support Directors and VPs with research, insights, and new business opportunities as required
• Contribute to Talk Shop’s culture and internal initiatives

What You’ll Bring

• 4–5 years of PR or communications experience in consumer tech, consumer lifestyle, health, or social impact
• Interest in the public sector, community events, provincial politics, technology sector, healthcare sector, or social impact sector
• Confidence leading client conversations and navigating multi-stakeholder environments
• A strong track record of securing meaningful media results
• Clear and compelling writing skills
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and maintain strong organization in a fast-moving environment
• Strong project management skills
• Commitment to excellence in your work
• Attention to detail and pride in producing client-ready work
• Collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills

Compensation:
Talk Shop offers a comprehensive compensation package that goes beyond base salary. The salary for this role typically falls between $75,000 - $85,000 CAD annually, and is complemented by a full suite of benefits including comprehensive health and dental coverage, weekly flex days, learning and development opportunities, mentorship, team events, perks, and swag.
