Role overview

You own civil engineering and site-design automation for data center and industrial megaprojects. From raw land to construction-ready site plans, you'll deliver real civil engineering on live projects while building the engine that automates it for every future site.

We don't need someone who knows how to navigate Civil 3D menus. We need someone who understands how land, water, grading, and infrastructure actually work — and can use AI to turn that knowledge into software.

What you’ll achieve

  • Deliver complete civil engineering packages: site layouts, grading and earthwork, stormwater management, drainage, utilities, access roads, and construction documentation.
  • Build a parametric civil design engine that takes site constraints, topography, geotechnical data, and project requirements and generates coordinated engineering deliverables.
  • Automate earthwork optimization, drainage calculations, utility routing, and site-layout iterations.
  • Connect civil engineering with structural, mechanical, and electrical design so a change in one discipline automatically propagates through the rest.
  • Use AI coding agents (Claude Code and similar) to build these workflows. You will ship code.

Requirements

You must

  • Understand the physics and engineering fundamentals behind grading, drainage, hydraulics, and site development.
  • Have delivered real engineering designs that have been built, or have equivalent hands-on experience solving difficult physical engineering problems.
  • Be comfortable challenging traditional engineering workflows and building better ones from scratch.
  • Be able to ship code with AI tools today, even without a traditional software background.
  • Have exceptional ownership. You see problems through to completion rather than handing them off.

You do not need to

  • Hold a PE license (helpful, not required).
  • Have prior data center experience.
  • Have a CS degree or traditional software development experience.
  • Have spent your career in a conventional civil engineering consultancy.

Benefits

Full-time | Remote (US or Canada, excluding Quebec) | US$150k–$250k or CA$215k–CA$355k base + founding-team equity

Fully compensated health plans with 100% dependent coverage.

We hire across the experience spectrum. Proof that you build beats years on a resume.
