Senior.NET Backend Developer(REST APIs / Microservices)

Contribute to the development of enterprise applications in the insurance sector using.NET, REST APIs, Kubernetes, Kafka, and modern DevOps technologies. Work on scalable digital solutions, collaborate on complex technical initiatives, and help deliver secure, high-performance platforms supporting business innovation.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and participate in the design, development, and deployment of.NET REST APIs and microservices using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ensure service designs comply with approved architecture standards.
• Learn and integrate emerging API technologies into solutions.
• Build event-driven services using Kafka.
• Use and enhance DevOps tools and CI/CD processes, including Jenkins, Artifactory, BitBucket, Gradle, Continuous Delivery Director, and Ansible.
• Identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.
• Coordinate coding, testing, debugging, and implementation activities with onshore and offshore teams.
• Produce and maintain documentation in accordance with SDLC requirements.
• Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflows, logical processes, interface design, controls, and outputs.
• Contribute to project planning by defining timelines and estimating feasibility, cost, scope, and effort.
• Ensure information security standards and requirements are incorporated into all solutions.
• Support the stability, performance, and ongoing maintenance of production applications, including problem analysis, resolution, escalation, and reporting.
• Develop REST services based on OpenAPI/Swagger specifications using.NET Core.
• Deploy applications to Kubernetes environments using Docker containers across on-premises and AWS platforms.
• Build microservices and domain services that access and populate MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases.
• Develop event-driven processes and microservices that consume Kafka topics.

What you will need to succeed:
• Postsecondary diploma or degree in Computer Science.
• 5 years of application development experience with progressive information technology experience across the full application development life cycle and systems integration.
• 1 year of experience working with Event-Driven Architecture.
• Strong experience with.NET APIs, REST, SOAP, JSON, OpenAPI, Swagger, Microsoft SQL, web services, and web hosting technologies.
• Strong DevOps experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver effective and timely solutions.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Okta, Kafka, AWS, and MongoDB is considered an asset.
• Experience with Group Benefits products and business domains is considered an asset.
• Exposure to Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration architectures and technologies is considered an asset.
• Experience managing and coordinating team activities in a multi-site environment.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Bilingual to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, support communication with stakeholders, and produce technical documentation in both languages.
