Job Description:The Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent calls for service; provides initial assessment, treatment and transport of ill or injured persons at the basic life support level. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Education

Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute
Grade 12

Licenses

International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
Valid Class 4 driver's license

Other Education and Training

CPR/AED Provider Certification
Emergency Vehicle Operations training

Knowledge and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of the SHA and EMS policies and procedures
Knowledge in applicable tools and equipment
Ability to function effectively in periods of high stress/emergent situations

Be physically fit and able to perform duties as outlined
Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
Indian Head is located approximately 70 km east of Regina
