Role overview

Our client, an established manufacturing company, is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead its procurement function and support the continued growth of the organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain, this role is responsible for leading the procurement team, developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely, cost-effective procurement of materials and services required to support operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team while establishing performance goals and KPIs.
  • Develop and improve procurement processes, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage strategic sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance.
  • Drive cost savings, supply chain risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with production schedules, MRP requirements, and business objectives.
  • Maintain supplier compliance programs and oversee vendor performance.
  • Optimize ERP/MRP data, including lead times, pricing, and vendor information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product introductions and operational projects.
  • Support purchasing and materials planning activities as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SCMP, CSCP, CPSM, or a comparable supply chain designation.
  • Proven procurement leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting the oil & gas industry.
  • Experience with international sourcing and supplier management.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and material specifications is considered an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
