Role overview

We are looking for a Java Developer with 3 to 9 years of experience to join our team. This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates based in Toronto, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Java applications and backend services.
Build RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
Work with SQL databases and develop efficient queries.
Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews.
Collaborate with QA, DevOps, product, and engineering teams.
Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes.
Troubleshoot application issues and improve application performance.

Required Skills:

3 to 9 years of professional Java development experience.
Strong knowledge of Java 8/11/17 or newer.
Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
Experience with REST APIs and Microservices.
Experience with SQL and relational databases.
Experience with Hibernate/JPA.
Experience with Git and Maven or Gradle.
Experience with JUnit and automated testing.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

Kafka
Docker and Kubernetes
AWS or Azure
Jenkins or other CI/CD tools
NoSQL databases
Enterprise or banking domain experience

Work Location:
Fully Remote – Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
