Role overview
Position SummaryThe Custodian performs basic janitorial, maintenance and repair duties for the program facility such as unplugging sinks and toilets, filling small holes in walls/ceilings, touching up paint, checking oil and fluid levels, and replacing tap washers, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, and door handles. Also cleans external areas and cleans, washes, and disinfects building areas. Assists program staff with preparing rooms for new tenants, including pest control. Performs basic security duties such as patrolling buildings and grounds. Also interacts with and takes direction from the Operations Manager or designate as needed.

Position Type: Permanent Full-Time, 1.0 FTEHours: 75 hours bi-weekly Hourly Range: $24.84 - $26.52 (BCGEU, Grid 3) Schedule: Saturday – Wednesday: 8:00AM – 4:00PM. At present includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break.Start Date: As soon as possible.

Program Summary
Foxglove Transitional Housing has 77 self-contained units for this portion of the Foxglove program. The tenants have access to laundry, a meal program, as well as a medication program if they chose. There’s staff on site twenty-four hours a day over three spate shifts. This space has access to indigenous cultural liaisons who creates programing connected to culture and build relationships with participants. There’s peer support specialist available seven days a week as well. The referral pathway through BCH from the coordinated access. The units are populated from folks who live in the community and or have experienced homelessness and would benefit from support services. QualificationsOur mission is to advance social equity by building upon the strengths of our community and of each individual. We are looking for employees who will be dedicated to helping fulfill our mission. Many forms of education and experience are valued, including volunteering, and lived experience of mental health/substance use/homelessness. Minimum education and experience include:
Grade 12.
Certificate in First Aid.
Building Service Worker Certificate.
Recent, related experience of 1 year.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
