Job Description:MSU provides an intermediate level of care requiring basic cardiac monitoring skills with integrated medical surgical nursing knowledge to support medical patients with higher acuity care needs.

Experience

Experience in critical care

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Adult ECG interpretation from an accredited course is required.

Other Education and Training

Nursing diploma is acceptable
Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
Other specialty certificates related to the clinical program area as required

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge in adult education
Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice
Demonstrated initiative, self-direction, organizational & leadership abilities
Demonstrates leadership abilities
Ability to facilitate teamwork is essential

Examples include CCNP; Level 3 of APEX Innov Impulse 2.0.
Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
