Electrical Apprentice & Generator Technician

Our member, Countryman Electric Ltd. is looking to hire an Electrical Apprentice & Generator Technician, for their company servicing Chesterville, ON.

This unique position offers the opportunity to build your electrical career while becoming a specialist in generator service, maintenance, and installation.
Generator Service & Maintenance

• Perform annual preventative maintenance on generators
• Change oil, filters, spark plugs, batteries, and other service components
• Complete operational testing and inspections
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Repair generators and replace faulty components
• Complete service reports and maintenance records
• Assist with generator installations and transfer switch installations

Electrical Work

• Assist with residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial electrical projects
• Install conduit, cable, panels, lighting, and electrical equipment
• Assist with service upgrades and renovations
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Follow Ontario Electrical Safety Code requirements
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Qualifications

• Registered 309A Electrical Apprentice (or willing to become registered)
• Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with engines, generators, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or small engines is an asset
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record
• Comfortable working outdoors and lifting up to 50 lbs

COMPENSATION

• Salary: $18-$30/hr (based on year of apprenticeship and level of experience)
• Full-time position
