Role overview

Position Description:

We are looking for passionate, self-driven new graduates who are excited to begin their career in full stack development, cloud technologies, and digital transformation. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy building applications, experimenting with new technologies, solving problems creatively, and continuously learning.

The successful candidate will work with experienced developers, architects, delivery leads, and quality engineering teams to design, build, test, deploy, and support modern cloud-enabled applications using Angular, Node.js, AWS Lambda, and Amazon EC2.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000-$80,000. This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and support full stack applications using Angular, Node.js, and AWS services.
• Build responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and related UI frameworks.
• Contribute to back-end development using Node.js, APIs, server-side logic, and integration patterns.
• Support cloud-based development and deployment using AWS services such as Lambda and EC2.
• Assist in building, integrating, and troubleshooting REST APIs and application services.
• Work with senior developers to understand application architecture, coding standards, reusable components, and deployment practices.
• Support debugging, unit testing, defect resolution, and production issue analysis under guidance.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with business analysts, quality engineers, product owners, designers, and senior developers to understand requirements and deliver working solutions.
• Learn and apply DevOps practices such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, build processes, environment deployments, and release support.
• Explore opportunities to use AI, automation, reusable components, and accelerators to improve developer productivity and delivery quality.
• Bring fresh thinking, creativity, curiosity, and ownership to improve application design, user experience, and engineering practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Recent graduate from Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related program.
• Academic, internship, co-op, hackathon, personal project, or open-source experience in software development.
• Exposure to Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Exposure to Node.js and back-end development concepts.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs, JSON, service integration, and debugging.
• Basic understanding of AWS cloud concepts, preferably including Lambda and EC2.
• Familiarity with Git, unit testing, development tools, and Agile delivery practices.
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, object-oriented concepts, data structures, and problem-solving techniques.
• Demonstrated passion for technology through creative projects, prototypes, apps, automation ideas, AI experiments, hackathons, or self-learning.
• Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable asking questions, seeking feedback, and taking ownership.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Interest in financial services, digital banking, cloud, AI, automation, or enterprise application delivery would be an asset.
