Job Summary:

The Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Intermediate is responsible for planning, developing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies for large-scale systems in both GUI and non-GUI environments. This role involves designing test plans, scripts, and cases, leading defect triage processes, and performing automation and manual testing to ensure software quality and accessibility compliance. The specialist collaborates closely with project teams to support system design, development, and deployment, focusing on integration, regression, load, and user acceptance testing.
Responsibilities:

  • Advise on testing strategies, test plans, and tool selection for large systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and test cases across various components.
  • Organize and lead testing efforts including systems integration, specialized, stress, and user acceptance testing.
  • Perform automation testing and develop automation test scripts using multiple tools.
  • Use SQL queries to validate, create, and extract test data.
  • Lead defect triage meetings, produce defect summary reports, and manage defect tracking using tools like Azure DevOps.
  • Conduct regression, load, security, penetration, black box, unit, and AODA testing.
  • Collaborate with IT leads and project teams to analyze, design, and support system development and implementation.
  • Provide coding, system, and architecture recommendations to ensure application accessibility and compliance with standards such as WAI-ARIA and AODA.
  • Utilize development tools and front-end technologies (Java, AngularJS, HTML5) to support accessibility remediation and UX design.

Required Skills & Certifications:

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in automation and manual testing, including regression, system, integration, and UAT testing.
  • Proven experience with defect triage, defect tracking, and reporting using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for test data management.
  • Experience with multiple testing types: black box, penetration, security, unit, AODA, and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience developing and executing automation test scripts with various tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and tools including screen readers, syntax checking, color contrast, and browser toolbars.
  • Experience in front-end technologies and UX design principles.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Bilingual testing experience.
  • Experience with Java and AngularJS development tools for accessibility remediation.
  • Experience in quality assurance documentation including test strategy and test plan creation.
  • Experience with load testing and stress testing methodologies.

Special Considerations:

  • Must be available for 5 days onsite as required.
  • Ability to lead and participate actively in triage meetings.

Scheduling:

  • Standard work schedule with potential onsite presence for 5 days as specified.
