The Opportunity

Food World Plus is hiring an experienced Retail Grocery Store Cashier. Previous cashier experience in a grocery store or supermarket is mandatory. The ideal candidate is reliable, customer-focused, accurate, and comfortable working in a busy retail grocery environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, scan items, process payments accurately at checkout.

Maintain accurate cash handling, balance register at shift end.

Meet daily/shift sales targets and contribute to team performance metrics.

Provide friendly service, answer questions, and upsell relevant items when appropriate.

Operate POS system, issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges per policy.

Record and report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or safety hazards promptly.

Pursue ongoing learning on products, promotions, and customer service best practices.

Uphold store policies on discounts, loyalty programs, and promotions.

Collaborate with team to ensure smooth store operations during peak hours.

Assist customers with locating products and provide store navigation guidance.

Maintain clean and organized checkout area; stock impulse items as directed.

Experience/Qualifications

Excellent cash handling accuracy and ability to balance till at shift end.

Proficient POS operation including scanning, receipts, refunds, and exchanges.

Meet daily/shift sales targets and contribute to team metrics.

Friendly customer service with upselling when appropriate.

Observe store policies on discounts, loyalty programs, and promotions.

Accurate record-keeping for discrepancies, damaged goods, and hazards.

Product knowledge and ongoing learning about promotions and store offerings.

Maintain clean, organized checkout area and stock impulse items as directed.

Ability to assist customers with locating products and provide store navigation guidance.

Strong teamwork while being accountable for individual performance.
