Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate coding lessons using hands-on, project-based activities.
  • Introduce students to computational thinking, sequencing, problem-solving, and basic programming concepts through games, robotics, visual programming platforms (e.g., Scratch Jr., Scratch), and other interactive tools.
  • Foster creativity, collaboration, and perseverance as students design and build their own digital projects.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the developmental needs and experience levels of different age groups.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Conference with teachers and parents on student participation and progress as requested.

Qualifications

  • Experience with age-appropriate coding platforms and educational robotics is an asset.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and able to inspire curiosity and confidence in young learners.
  • Current Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain one).

Compensation

  • $30–35 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

If you are passionate about helping children develop digital literacy, creativity, and problem-solving skills through coding, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience working with children and teaching coding or STEM-related subjects.
