Position Summary
Western Community College (WCC) is seeking a qualified and experienced Construction Electrician Foundation (CEF) Instructor to deliver Construction Electrician Foundation program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, supporting student success, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Construction Electrician Foundation courses in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments, and practical learning activities.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in faculty meetings, program development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support students in achieving program learning outcomes and industry standards.
Required Qualification/ Experience
- BC Construction Electrician Certificate of Qualification (COFQ) with Inter-Provincial Red Seal Endorsement (IP RSE), or a Certificate of Qualification with Inter-Provincial Red Seal (IP RSE) from another Canadian jurisdiction.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, code requirements, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or instructional experience is considered an asset.
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.
- Candidates will be required to present a demonstration lesson during the interview process.
Expected Schedule
- Candidates can be available to instruct daytime and evening courses.
