French Immersion Priority Teacher(Elementary)
Term Contract
District Wide – West Vancouver Schools
Effective September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027

The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $63,347 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the West Vancouver Teachers' Association Collective Agreement. Salary will be prorated based on FTE.

This is a French Immersion Priority Teacher assignment at the elementary level. The successful candidate must be available Monday to Friday,is expected to acceptdispatchcalls on every regular school day, and is expected to participate in professional development days, subject to illness or approved leave. The dispatches could be to any of our elementary sites but will be primarily at the two elementary French Immersion sites.

This teacherwill be placed in an elementaryFrench Immersion opportunitythat arises during thecourse of the school yearand that the teacher is qualified for(Maternity leave, medical leave, etc.).

The successful candidate will be eligible for full extended health and dental benefits, in accordance with the Collective Agreement

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • valid British Columbia teaching certification from the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
  • demonstrated fluency in spoken and written French appropriate for French Immersion instruction
  • experience teaching in a French Immersion setting at the elementary and/or secondary level
  • knowledge of and experience implementing the BC Curriculum
  • ability to deliver instruction, classroom routines, and student support in French
  • demonstrated ability to establish positive, inclusive learning environments
  • effective classroom management skills
  • strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • flexibility and adaptability to work across a variety of school settings and grade levels
  • experience integrating technology to support student learning
