About the opportunity:
In this role, you will help maintain the parks and sports fields in Prince George, ensuring they remain green and well-kept. Your responsibilities will include installing and maintaining turf grass and irrigation systems, as well as performing tasks related to turf construction and maintenance. This encompasses activities such as landscaping, turf repair, irrigation repair and installation, topdressing, overseeding, aerating, fertilizing, sweeping, and mowing. Summer seasonal positions are subject to annual layoff and recall.
About your background:
You have completed Grade 12 and hold a Certified Irrigation Technician Level 1 certification from the Irrigation Association of BC. Ideally, you have also completed a course related to the trade. Additionally, you bring at least one year of relevant experience to this skilled position. Some supervisory experience is preferred. A Level 1 First Aid certification is also preferred, or you must obtain it within six months. Your commitment to safety is essential. A valid full-privilege Class 5 driver's license is required (or out-of-province equivalent). The successful candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offences related to the position.
