Assignment Area(s): Grade 9-12 Math (all streams) & Science

Salary Range: $63,347 to $116,190 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Effective Date:September 1, 2026 until no later than June 30, 2027

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:

  • knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment
  • extensive academic training, professional preparation and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment
  • demonstrated ability to design, implement and assess inquiry/project based/experiential learning that explores and connects big ideas and concepts across disciplines, and allows access points for learners with differing abilities, interests and needs (inclusive planning and UDL) and culminates in authentic demonstrations, artifacts, performances or exhibitions of learning
  • Extensive academic training, professional preparation, experience and qualifications in teaching Math & Science that incorporates First Peoples principles of learning in the curriculum content and application.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach in a multi- graded, flexible learning environment that deeply immerses students in experiential opportunities (Deep Dive Immersive Institutes)
  • demonstrated ability to teach all streams of math in a project-based, experiential way that represents currency of practice
  • demonstrated ability to promote authentic learning that connects students to their interests and passions, and supports their ability to connect, create and contribute
  • demonstrated ability to collaboratively design assessments (as, for and of learning) around authentic demonstrations, artifacts, performances, or exhibitions of learning
  • demonstrated ability to support students to curate and showcase their learning through digital portfolios
  • demonstrated ability and a desire to participate in a professional learning community that fosters innovation, risk-taking and collaboration
  • demonstrated experience and a willingness to work with community partners (artists/creatives-in-residence) to provide students with authentic learning opportunities beyond the school walls
  • understanding of, and commitment to implementing the First Peoples Principles of Learning within an integrated approach to teaching and learning
  • demonstrated understanding and commitment to the four pillars of integrated arts & technology: Integration of Disciplines; Authentic Learning; Collaborative Culture; Visionary Staff
  • demonstrated excellent classroom management, relationships and classroom organization
  • demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive, respectful and collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, parents/guardians, and community partners within an inclusive and welcoming school environment
  • demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
