Records Management Clerk (Government)

What is in it for you:
• Hourly salary of $40-45, based on experience.
• 12-month contract with a maximum extension term of 12 months.
• Full-time position: 36.25 hours per week.
• Weekday schedule from 8:15 am to 4:30 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break.

Responsibilities:
• Support the Access to Information Coordinator and Senior Access to Information Advisors in managing access to information requests under the Access to Information Act.
• Review records and identify information requiring redaction.
• Examine the scope of access to information requests.
• Review and organize records, including identifying duplicate records, arranging records in chronological order, and determining responsiveness within the request scope.
• Assist in preparing and coordinating correspondence to applicants.
• Prepare and provide initial recommendations to the Access to Information Coordinator.
• Produce documents and provide ongoing administration of access to information request files.
• Maintain documentation within the Access to Information system.
• Prepare completed information packages for release.
• Support compliance with legislative and policy requirements related to the Access to Information Act within a public sector institution.

What you will need to succeed:
Required qualifications
• 5 years of experience functioning independently and within a team or group environment.
• 4 years of experience proofing and formatting Word documents in a work setting.
• 2 years of experience with information governance, records management, or information management.
• 4 years of experience reviewing and analyzing document content.

Preferred qualifications
• 4 years of experience editing documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• 2 years of experience with information management concepts, privacy, and security issues.
• 3 years of experience interpreting and applying access to information and/or privacy requirements.
• 4 years of experience working in an environment where work is delivered through a ticket- or request-based process.
• 2 years of demonstrated experience with information management.
