Counselling and Wellness

Part-time Term 50% (17.5 hours per week)

ASAP to July 9, 2027

Duties:Provide confidential counselling and support to students experiencing personal, emotional, social, and academic challenges, including anxiety, depression, substance use, self-esteem, relationship concerns, family issues, and anger management. Respond to students in crisis situations, offering assessment, intervention, and referrals as appropriate. Promote student wellness, resilience, and self-advocacy through individual counselling, workshops, and educational programming on topics such as stress management, exam anxiety, and time management. Serve as a resource for students, faculty, and staff by providing consultation, advocacy, and referrals to community agencies and professionals. Maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, participate in professional development activities, contribute to college committees, and support student engagement initiatives, orientations, graduations, open houses, and other campus events. Travel between campuses and occasional evening or weekend work may be required

Qualifications: A Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Clinical Social Work, or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution is required, including completion of a graduate-level supervised counselling practicum. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three to five years of related counselling experience, including at least one year of experience supporting students in a secondary or post-secondary educational environment. Candidates will demonstrate strong assessment, intervention, crisis response, and referral skills, along with the ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues, and community partners.

Salary: As per the Faculty Salary Schedule and depending on qualifications, instructional and related work experience, the salary for term employees is in a range from $44.89 to $60.26 per hour (this includes 16% in lieu of vacation). Terms over 1 year have the option of benefits and vacation or 16% in lieu.
