Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Department: Clinical

Status: Casual

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Site Administrator/Director of Care, the LPN will work under the direction of Registered Nurse while providing nursing care to residents.The position complies with all legislative standards, company policies/procedures and rules/ regulations in a professional manner. The LPN will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice in keeping with British Columbia College of Nurses &Midwifes, BC Residential Care Regulations and home standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans.
  • Monitor residents' health status and report any changes to the nursing team.
  • Educate residents and their families on health management and wellness.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to enhance resident care.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial regulations and professional standards.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and infection-control protocols.
  • Support the Clinical Manager in the coordination, implementation and monitoring of infection Prevention and control, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality initiatives for the Nursing Department.
  • Coordination and serve on the various committees responsible for client care.
  • Complete Annual & Mandatory Education/ in-sservices as well as all required education/in -service as per organizational requirements.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document patient responses to treatments and interventions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid LPN license in British Columbia (BCCN&M Registration required).
  • Current First Aid Level C certification required.
  • Previous experience in long-term care or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
