Role overview

Purpose: Promotes, implements, supervises, and supports programs providing services to children aged birth – 10 yrs in accordance with the Club's mission, Child Care policies and Ontario Early Years mission, in relation to stated goals, objectives and allocated resources.

Program Services:

  • Abides by policies and procedures set out by the Club, Child Care & Ontario Early Years lead site (CMCP) & Authorized Recreational Program
  • Assess needs of children (aged 0 to 10yrs) and provides educational and interesting programming, develops achievable goals and objectives for groups of or individual children.
  • Ensures the development, promotion, and implementation of programs and services in relation to the assessed needs, defined goals, objectives and professional service standards.
  • Ensures the safety and security of Club members during programs.
  • Ensures that supplies, equipment and facility are available and are in a safe working condition.
  • Consults and works with colleagues, groups and other service providers.

General Responsibilities:

EarlyON Program

  • Assists with the setting up and cleaning up of the EarlyON program on a daily basis.
  • Assists with supervising the clients (group and individual) and adapts program to meet their development, cultural, social/emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe environment.
  • Assists to complete all necessary paperwork and all daily/monthly checks/cleaning (eg. registration sheets, sign in sheets, satisfaction and workshop questionnaires, disinfection of toys/interest areas/laundry, accident report forms, etc.).
  • Ensures clients sign in and out daily and completes all registration information.
  • Actively participates and attends activities as a member of the Club’s team.

Authorized Recreation & Child care Program

  • Supervises children and adapts program to meet their development, cultural, social/emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Transitions children safely to and from school or enhanced programs
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe environment – including equipment and supplies.
  • Assists to complete all necessary paperwork and all daily/monthly checks/cleaning (eg. registration sheets, sign in sheets, satisfaction and workshop questionnaires, disinfection of toys/interest areas/laundry, accident report forms, etc.).
  • Assists Preschool RECE’s with child care needs, routines and assigned paperwork

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children birth to 10yrs
  • Immunization Records (MMR, Hep B, TB (within 6 months), TDP)
  • Current First Aid and CPR-C
  • Police Reference Check (current – within 6 months)
  • Principles of Healthy Child Development and Health Minds for Healthy Children and The Best Way to Play (an asset)

Contract Period: to be determined thru to June 30th 2027

Hours: Mondays thru Fridays: 7:30 to 2:30pm (7 hrs)
