Role overview

Onsite Sign Group has been designing and building landmarks across Western Canada since 1993. From a two-person garage operation to a 30,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, we now employ over 60 people across 7 cities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Our Lloydminster facility is the manufacturing heart of the company — every custom project moves through design, CNC, fabrication, paint, assembly, and shipping before it is installed across the Prairies.

The CNC department is where nearly every custom sign starts. Accuracy at this station sets quality for every department downstream — a part cut wrong costs fabrication, paint, and assembly their day.

Everything we build is custom. You will not run the same file a thousand times; you will set up new jobs daily, verify programs, select materials, and solve problems. Previous CNC experience is preferred, but we will train a mechanically capable candidate with relevant shop experience and strong attention to detail — cabinetmaking, millwork, and machining backgrounds transfer well.

What You'll Do
• Set up and operate a CNC flatbed router safely and efficiently.
• Use VCarve or similar software to open, nest, check, and run production files.
• Read work orders, cut files, shop drawings, and job specifications before starting work.
• Load and secure sheet material; select tooling and confirm vacuum hold-down.
• Cut and route aluminum composite material, acrylic, PVC, HDU, MDF, plastics, and other sign substrates.
• Complete first-piece checks and monitor dimensions, edge quality, and material use throughout the run.
• Deburr, clean, label, and organize completed parts for the next production stage.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance; report equipment or cut-quality problems promptly.
• Coordinate with production design and fabrication when drawings, files, or material do not match.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized CNC work area.

What We're Looking For
• Previous CNC router or comparable CNC equipment experience is preferred.
• Able to read measurements, drawings, and specifications accurately.
• Comfortable using a computer and learning production software.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability.
• Able to handle sheet material, lift up to 50 lb, and stand for a full shift.
• Reliable, punctual, safety-minded, and able to work with limited supervision.
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence.

Experience That Is an Asset
• VCarve, Aspire, EnRoute, or other CAM/nesting software.
• Sign manufacturing, cabinetmaking, woodworking, plastics, or print-production experience.
• Forklift training and basic familiarity with vector artwork.

What We Offer
• $22–$32 per hour, based on demonstrated experience and ability.
• Health and dental benefits after the successful completion of the probationary period.
• Full-time, year-round work — Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. — home every night.
• Practical training and a real path to advancement — we promote from within.
• Stable, growing company with over 30 years in business.

If you are mechanically inclined, detail-driven, and take pride in accurate work, we want to hear from you.
