Role overview

Manager, Information Technology

At Spirit of Math, technology powers learning, operations, and innovation across our schools and growing educational platforms. We’re looking for a hands-on IT leader who can combine strategic thinking with practical execution — someone equally comfortable planning systems architecture, troubleshooting Microsoft 365 issues, managing vendors, and leading critical technology initiatives.

This is not a purely managerial role. We need someone who likes rolling up their sleeves, solving problems, improving systems, and building strong operational foundations while leading a small internal team and external IT partners.

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead the day-to-day and long-term management of technology across Spirit of Math, including infrastructure, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and IT operations.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Microsoft 365 & Enterprise Systems

Lead administration and optimization of the Microsoft 365 environment including Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, Intune, and security/compliance tools
Manage identity, access, permissions, and device policies
Improve collaboration, automation, and operational efficiency across the organization

IT Operations & Infrastructure

Oversee reliable and secure IT operations across corporate and campus environments
Support networking, endpoints, hardware lifecycle management, and cloud-based infrastructure
Work closely with the organization’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure responsive support and strong service delivery
Act as escalation point for complex technical issues

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

Strengthen security posture across systems, devices, and user access
Coordinate security monitoring, incident response, backups, and disaster recovery readiness
Ensure best practices around data protection and privacy

Systems & Platform Leadership

Support and oversee key operational platforms including our Student Information System (SIS)
Collaborate with internal developers and external vendors on integrations, improvements, and system stability
Help prioritize technology initiatives aligned with organizational growth

Project Leadership

Lead IT projects from planning through implementation
Partner with stakeholders across departments to identify needs and deliver practical solutions
Manage vendors, timelines, budgets, and technology rollouts

What We’re Looking For
You’re a strong technical leader who enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on execution.

You bring:

5+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibility
Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
Experience with cloud infrastructure, endpoint management, identity/access management, and cybersecurity
Experience managing MSPs and third-party vendors
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
A proactive, ownership-driven mindset

Bonus points for experience with:

Educational organizations or multi-site environments
Student Information Systems or custom platforms
Intune, SharePoint architecture, Power Automate, or compliance/security tooling
IT documentation, policy development, and governance

Why Join Us

Opportunity to shape and modernize IT across a growing organization
High ownership and meaningful impact
Collaborative leadership team
Diverse mix of infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity, and systems work
Mission-driven organization focused on education and innovation

Salary Range: $100,000–$130,000
