Position Description:

We are seeking a Regulatory Operations Testing professional to support the testing and validation of software and business processes that comply with regulatory requirements within the Canadian insurance industry.

This hybrid role is based in Markham, Ontario, and requires working onsite a minimum of three (3) days per week at our/client location, subject to change based on business needs.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies while ensuring compliance with insurance industry standards, including GISA, Facility Association, and GAA. You will work closely with business and technology teams to validate system functionality, maintain regulatory compliance, and support high-quality software delivery throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive software test plans and test strategies.
  • Perform manual and automated testing across Windows and web-based applications.
  • Validate compliance with insurance industry regulations, including GISA, Facility Association, and GAA.
  • Execute End-to-End, System Integration (SIT), System, Functional, and Regression Testing.
  • Develop, review, and maintain test scripts, test specifications, and test estimates.
  • Track, report, and manage defects using Jira.
  • Prepare and maintain test documentation, compliance documentation, and test result reports.
  • Coordinate testing activities throughout the SDLC and STLC.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and best practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must Have

  • Experience within the insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance policy lifecycle.
  • Experience with insurance industry regulations and standards, including GISA, Facility Association, and GAA.
  • Experience in regulatory reporting, business analysis, underwriting, or a related insurance function.
  • 5+ years of experience developing, executing, and managing software test plans.
  • Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Experience performing both manual and automated testing.
  • Experience testing Windows and web-based applications.
  • Experience writing and reviewing test scripts.
  • Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test specifications, and test estimates.
  • Experience coordinating and executing software testing activities.
  • Experience performing End-to-End, System Integration (SIT), System, Functional, and Regression Testing.
  • Experience using Jira for defect management.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining compliance documentation, test documentation, and testing reports.
  • Experience testing Oracle e-Business Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.

Assets

  • Experience improving software testing processes and procedures.
  • Experience providing guidance or training on testing and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience preparing Test Completion Reports, Daily Status Reports, and Weekly Status Reports.
  • Experience using TestTrack for defect tracking and reporting.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000–$115,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
