Partnership & Ownership Opportunity — Yorkton, SK

Guaranteed $200,000+ · 25% of gross billings · Monday–Friday, no evenings or weekends · Clear path to partnership and ownership

Are you an optometrist seeking a rewarding, full-scope career in a thriving, well-established practice — with a real path to owning it? Drs. Popick, Caines & Associates in Yorkton, Saskatchewan is hiring dedicated optometrists to join our pathology-based primary and secondary care practice, with a clear path to partnership and/or ownership of one of the longest continuously running optometric practices in the province.

▬ WHY JOIN OUR PRACTICE

Our practice has been a trusted part of the Yorkton community since the 1930s and has operated with a strong team of three optometrists for over 33 years. With one doctor already retiring and ownership potential, this is an exceptional opportunity to step into a busy, patient-focused environment with a an all-encompassing highly loyal patient demographic — our owners have been booked roughly a year in advance for the last two years.

▬ PRACTICE TO THE TOP OF YOUR LICENSE

This is full-scope optometry, not routine refraction alone. As a rural service centre for southeastern Saskatchewan, we diagnose and manage ocular disease in-house — sparing our patients long drives to the city — and offer growing specialty services. You'll use everything you learned in school.

-

Pathology-based primary and secondary care, including ocular disease and glaucoma co-management including cataracts, AMD, glaucoma, etc.

-

Growing specialty services — myopia management and dry-eye therapy.

-

Strong referral relationships with physicians and ophthalmologists in Regina and Saskatoon.

▬ WHAT WE OFFER

-

State-of-the-art equipment— Optomap (California model), Topcon OCT, Octopus 900 Perimeter, Nidek Auto K-R, Nidek RT-5100 Refractor, and 5 fully equipped refracting lanes.

-

Efficient EMR— Optosys for seamless scheduling, billing, and patient management.

-

Established patient base— over 20,000 active files and strong local referral relationships.

-

Fully equipped dispensary & lab— over 1,500 frames and on-site edging with 1-hour service for single-vision lenses (Nidek Ice 1000 blocker and Lexce Trend edger added in 2023).

-

Experienced support staff— a tenured team of 6 full-time staff, including CCOA-certified members.

-

Purpose-built clinic— a 6,300 sq. ft. stand-alone building across from the hospital, with onsite parking for patients and staff.

▬ THE OPPORTUNITY — AND A GENUINE PATH TO OWNERSHIP

-

Competitive compensation— 25% of gross billings with a guaranteed minimum of $200,000. Recent associates have earned over $225,000 per year.

-

Clear path to partnership / ownership— step into ownership of an established, profitable practice and the purpose-built building. Owner-supported (vendor) financing options are available, so ownership may be achievable without wealthy backing.

-

Mentorship through transition— Dr. Popick will remain to mentor the incoming owner for an agreed period (from six months up to about two years) on a diminishing schedule, protecting continuity for patients and staff.

-

Work-life balance— Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM. No evenings or weekends.

Repatriating or landlocked? If you're an associate with no ownership path where you are, or a Canadian optometrist practising abroad and looking to come home, this is a rare chance to own — not just work.
