Description

The Apparel Fit Assistant supports the fit and sizing process of garments to ensure consistency, comfort, quality, and brand standards across all product lines. This role works closely with UL Laboratory Fit Technicians and cross-functional brand teams of our client. Mainly assist in fittings, measure garments, track fit approvals, and document fit comments throughout product development.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during fit sessions
  • Ability to lift and move garment samples (up to 25 lbs, if applicable)
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced product development environment
  • May require working with live models or mannequins
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Fit & Garment Evaluation

  • Assist in garment fit sessions on live models, dress forms, or digital fit platforms
  • Measure garments accurately using approved measurement techniques
  • Evaluate fit, balance, proportion, and construction against brand fit standards
  • Identify fit issues related to comfort, movement, and appearance

Documentation & Communication

  • Record detailed fit comments and measurement changes
  • Update fit tracking tools, technical packages (tech packs), and fit logs
  • Support communication of fit corrections to vendors, factories, and internal partners
  • Maintain organized records of fit approvals and revisions

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with Fit Technicians and Technical Designers during fittings
  • Support cross-functional teams including Design, Pattern Making, Merchandising, and Sourcing
  • Help prepare samples for fittings (steaming, labeling, preparing size runs)
  • Assist with follow-ups to ensure fit corrections are executed accurately

Quality & Process Support

  • Ensure samples meet construction, measurement, and workmanship standards
  • Help maintain consistency of fit across sizes and styles
  • Support continuous improvement of fit processes, tools, and standards

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate’s degree or coursework in Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Basic understanding of garment construction and apparel terminology
  • Strong measurement and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to take clear, accurate notes during fast-paced fit sessions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic apparel systems

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Fashion Design, or Technical Design
  • Previous experience in apparel fit, technical design, or sample evaluation
  • Familiarity with tech packs, size charts, and pattern concepts
  • Experience working with vendors or offshore sourcing partners

  • Comfort working in a collaborative, hands-on environment

This is an onsite position with expectations to be onsite 5 days a week.

What we offer:

  • Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $55,500 to $65,000 CAD and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
