Our client, a well-established and growing distributor within the industrial supply sector, is seeking a Distribution Supervisor to lead warehouse operations and ensure the seamless flow of inbound and outbound materials.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in operational excellence, and enjoys coaching and developing teams.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision

  • Oversee daily operations across Shipping, Receiving, and Order Entry functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Monitor performance, conduct evaluations, and address issues proactively
  • Act as the key liaison between warehouse, logistics, customer service, and leadership teams

Receiving

  • Manage inbound processes including packing slip review, tagging, and system entry
  • Ensure all incoming materials meet quality standards and documentation requirements
  • Implement processes to reduce errors and improve accuracy

Shipping

  • Supervise outbound operations to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped on time and to specification
  • Verify all documentation is accurate and compliant with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to ensure smooth operations
  • Ensure all drivers comply with site safety protocols while on site
  • Review and approve shipments, including partial shipments and back orders

Customer Service

  • Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding order status, delays, and issues
  • Handle escalated shipping-related concerns with professionalism and urgency

Your Background Might Include…

  • Experience supervising shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations in an industrial, distribution, or manufacturing environment
  • A background in industrial distribution, building materials, MRO, or contractor-facing supply environments
  • Experience working in fast-paced logistics or transportation terminals where timing and accuracy are critical
  • Time spent in a manufacturing environment supporting inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods
  • Exposure to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or other technical product distribution environments
  • Hands-on leadership experience where you’ve led a team, solved problems on the floor, and kept operations running smoothly

Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:

  • Minimum 2+ year experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience (1–2 years preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ERP/warehouse systems
  • Solid understanding of warehouse safety standards and compliance
