$140,000–$160,000 Base Salary + Bonus

The Opportunity:

Our client, an established and growing organization within the building materials industry, is seeking a proven Plant Manager to lead its manufacturing operation in Vaughan.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a driven, hands-on leader who can strengthen operational performance, build accountability across the plant, and help take the business to the next level.

The successful candidate will oversee all day-to-day plant operations, including production, maintenance, safety, quality, labour planning, continuous improvement, and overall operational execution. The Plant Manager will be expected to establish clear performance standards, develop the leadership team, improve productivity, and ensure the Vaughan facility consistently delivers against its safety, quality, cost, and service objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for plant operations at the Vaughan facility.
  • Lead production, maintenance, safety, quality, scheduling, labour planning, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that support business growth and improved profitability.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, accountability, and measurable plant KPIs.
  • Improve productivity, throughput, labour efficiency, equipment utilization, and on-time delivery.
  • Identify operational constraints and implement practical solutions that improve plant performance.
  • Build, coach, and develop a strong plant leadership team.
  • Create a visible, hands-on leadership presence throughout the operation.
  • Champion a strong health and safety culture and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Partner with senior leadership, sales, supply chain, engineering, and other departments to support customer and business requirements.
  • Develop annual operating plans, budgets, capital priorities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of Lean manufacturing, standardized work, waste reduction, and process improvement programs.
  • Ensure the plant has the people, processes, systems, and equipment required to support future growth.
  • Lead change effectively while maintaining employee engagement and operational stability.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or senior operations leader within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within building materials, construction products, engineered products, industrial manufacturing, automotive, or a related high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success improving plant performance, productivity, quality, safety, and profitability.
  • Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, KPI management, and operational best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead through change and build accountability across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to connect plant performance to customer service and overall business results.
  • Experience managing budgets, labour planning, capital projects, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, operations, business, manufacturing, or a related discipline is an asset.

Compensation:

  • Base salary of $140,000–$160,000, depending on experience
