Role overview

A leading full-service law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3–7 years of experience in commercial litigation and insurance law to join its growing litigation practice. Responsibilities

Advise clients on insurance defense and insurance coverage matters.
Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal analysis.
Draft pleadings, motion materials, factums, pre-trial memoranda, and mediation briefs.
Prepare correspondence with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
Prepare for and attend examinations for discovery, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
Represent clients at motions and other court appearances.
Participate in business development and professional networking opportunities.
Assist with practice management and collaborate with colleagues across the litigation team.

Qualifications

3–7 years of commercial litigation and/or insurance litigation experience.
Experience in private practice or in-house legal roles will be considered.
Strong advocacy, legal research, and written communication skills.
Ability to manage files independently while working collaboratively within a team.
Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) to practice law in Alberta.
