Legal Administrative Assistant – Estate Litigation
Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary: $60,000 – $80,000
Schedule: Full-Time | Potential hybrid flexibility after probation
Our client, a boutique Vancouver law firm with a well-established trusts, estates, and litigation practice, is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support its Estate Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys working closely with lawyers on complex and meaningful litigation matters in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
The successful candidate will bring strong litigation support experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, revise, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, settlement proposals, and other litigation documents.
- Coordinate and schedule discoveries, mediations, hearings, conferences, trials, and court appearances.
- Manage lawyer calendars, appointments, and meetings.
- Maintain bring-forward systems, limitation dates, and critical litigation deadlines.
- Prepare court materials, including affidavits, application records, books of authorities, trial briefs, and mediation materials.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical client files and litigation materials.
- Attend to court filings and assist with procedural requirements and deadlines.
- Coordinate experts, consultants, and other third-party service providers as required.
- Assist with trial preparation and provide litigation support throughout the lifecycle of files.
- Provide general administrative and practice support to the litigation team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant within a litigation practice.
- Strong knowledge of BC court procedures, litigation processes, and filing requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical proficiency, including advanced document formatting and word processing skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, deadline-driven practice.
