  • Set line, grade, elevations, offsets, and layout points for underground utilities and associated civil works.
  • Provide accurate layout for storm, sanitary, watermain, roadworks, earthworks, structures, and site-servicing activities.
  • Perform topographic surveys, site mapping, grade checks, and installation verification.
  • Use total stations, GPS, RTK equipment, site levels, and other survey instruments to collect and verify field data.
  • Import, review, and interpret CAD files, digital drawings, and engineering information for field layout.
  • Confirm that installed work aligns with project drawings, specifications, slopes, elevations, and tolerances.
  • Provide timely and accurate grade and line information to forepersons, operators, and field crews.
  • Identify discrepancies between field conditions, drawings, and design information and communicate issues promptly.
  • Work with project managers, engineers, consultants, and field supervision to resolve survey and layout challenges.
  • Maintain accurate survey notes, control records, calculations, layout files, and field documentation.
  • Complete as-built surveys and provide field information for project records and closeout.
  • Protect, maintain, calibrate, and properly store survey equipment.
  • Plan surveying activities to support construction schedules and minimize delays to field production.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and remain aware of equipment, excavation, traffic, and other active-site hazards.
  • Travel between Lower Mainland jobsites as required.
