REAL-R is hiring an experienced Master Electrician to lead and support fire alarm and life safety projects across Alberta. This is a high-impact role where your expertise ensures critical systems protecting people and property are installed, maintained, and verified to the highest standards.

What You’ll Do

-

Act as the designated Master Electrician responsible for permits and electrical code compliance

-

Lead installation, maintenance, and upgrades of fire alarm and life safety systems

Supervise and support electricians and apprentices in the field

-

Perform inspections, testing, verification, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems

-

Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes

-

Coordinate with clients, engineers, inspectors, and project teams

-

Complete documentation including permits, reports, and service records

-

Support system commissioning, programming, and ongoing maintenance

-

Promote a strong safety culture and participate in safety meetings and reviews

What You Bring

-

Valid Alberta Master Electrician certification (required)

-

Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal or equivalent)

-

10+ years of experience post-journeyperson

-

Strong experience with fire alarm or life safety systems

-

Solid knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, Alberta Building Code, and Fire Code

-

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with clean abstract

-

Experience leading crews or mentoring apprentices

-

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications

Nice to Have

-

CFAA certification or fire alarm manufacturer training

-

Experience with emergency lighting, exit systems, or suppression systems

-

Background in healthcare, high-rise, or industrial projects

-

Familiarity with digital reporting tools and basic computer systems
