The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, PI Operational Reporting & Analysis, the Specialist, PI Financial Reporting & Analysis plays a critical role in providing timely, insightful performance reporting to support senior leaders across Personal Insurance. This role focuses heavily on the weekly presentation of current results, ensuring variances from Plan are clearly identified, investigated, and communicated to business partners.

In addition, the Specialist supports the end‑to‑end annual and quarterly Plan and forecast cycles, including the collection, aggregation, and validation of business assumptions. The analysis and insights generated by this role enable leadership to understand performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and make effective decisions for both short‑term operations and long‑term strategic planning.

What to Expect

  • Lead the weekly results reporting cycle, including preparing and presenting performance updates to senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Monitor and flag deviations from Plan, providing clear, concise explanations of drivers and partnering with business teams to validate assumptions and understand emerging trends.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the annual Plan and forecast, including collecting, aggregating, and analyzing business inputs and assumptions.
  • Develop financial models and analytical tools to evaluate performance, scenario impacts, and business initiatives.
  • Prepare and peer-review monthly and quarterly business performance reporting for internal (senior leadership, Board) and external stakeholders (regulators, auditors, investors).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting quality, timeliness, and governance across Personal Insurance.
  • Support documentation updates for internal governance activities such as business continuity management and vendor risk management.
  • Provide timely ad‑hoc analysis to respond to emerging questions and issues raised by business stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • University degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in financial reporting, planning, or business performance analysis.
  • Professional designations such as CPA, MBA, or CFA are considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial modeling, variance analysis, and performance storytelling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to deliver clear, concise insights to senior leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint and SQL knowledge would be asset
  • Experience in P&C insurance is an asset but not required.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, high attention to detail, and a track record of identifying trends and key performance drivers.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Salary Range:$73,500 - $123,500
