Position Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-driven and analytical Space Planner to join a dynamic retail team. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Senior Space Planners and cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize merchandise planograms (POGs) that bring category strategies to life in-store.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring planograms are not only visually compelling, but also drive sales, profitability, and an exceptional customer experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and build high-quality planograms (POGs) using JDA, aligned with merchandising strategy, assortment decisions, and visual standards
- Capture and translate Innovation Centre layouts into store-ready planograms
- Analyze planogram performance using sales, profitability, and inventory data, identifying opportunities for optimization
- Collaborate with merchandising, analytics, and store teams to resolve planogram-related challenges
- Present recommendations and insights to Space Planning and Merchandising leadership, balancing trade-offs across strategy, operations, and customer experience
- Adapt assortments into store-specific layouts based on bay count, fixtures, and store environment
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy against assortment listings and store data
- Support execution by addressing pre-walk and in-store issues within defined timelines
- Prepare fixture/steel assemblies where required
- Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives that advance space planning capabilities
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience, ideally within retail or merchandising environments
- Microsoft Excel: 2 years (required)
- Proficiency in JDA Space Planning software or similar designing tools
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in Excel and data manipulation
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with MS Access is an asset
- Post-secondary education (or equivalent experience) in a related field
