Shifts: Rotating monthly schedule: Days (7am-3pm), Afternoons (3pm-11pm), Nights (11pm-7am)
Pay: $24.20/hr + Shift Premiums (Afternoons: +$1.50/hr, Nights: +$2.00/hr)
Job Overview
We’re looking for a dependable, safety-conscious Extrusion Technician / Extruder Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll operate extrusion machinery and handle downstream packaging tasks. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, experienced with extrusion, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial setting.
A large part of the job will involve packaging finished products. Training is provided for our packaging equipment, and you’ll be expected to follow packaging specifications accurately. This role is physically demanding, requiring regular standing, bending, lifting, and the use of lift-assist devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate extrusion machines per production requirements
- Monitor and adjust process parameters (temperature, pressure, material flow)
- Conduct quality checks with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
- Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance
- Operate packaging equipment according to specifications
- Complete packaging tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and using lift-assist devices
- Accurately record production data and machine settings
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in extrusion within a manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or GED (technical/vocational training a plus)
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schedules
- Basic math and computer proficiency
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work in a hot and noisy industrial setting and wear PPE
