The RBC Dominion Securities Coquitlam Branch is seeking an Investment Associate to provide dedicated support in investment & portfolio management for a successful Advisory Team.
What will you do?
- Manage, execute and monitor all discretionary and non-discretionary investment operations-trading, rebalancing, modelling, cash flow, maturing issues, reorgs, and compliance requirements
- Prepare, monitor and update Investment Policy Statements
- Review and execute on daily reports, transactions, task and activities
- Stay current on reading and research specific to the Portfolio Manager’s investment discipline & strategy
- Explore ideas and opportunities in equities, fixed income and alternative assets
- Proactively review portfolios and models and discuss details and recommendations with Portfolio Manager
- Support with the preparation of proposals (clients and prospects)
- Manage and implement efficient procedures for all portfolio management and investment related work
- Active participant in regular Investment Committee team meetings, stay on top of market insight emails and market update calls.
- Handle market and portfolio-related client inquiries and escalate to client-facing advisory team as necessary
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Minimum of 3 years of investment management experience
- A self-directed individual with a growth and goals-oriented mindset
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Accurate number skills
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures will be an asset
- Successful completion of CFA,CMT- must be IIROC licensed
- Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable incentive payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals; market conditions; and business needs.
The expected base salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000.
This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment up to 1.0x base salary.
