We're looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Lead / Foreman to join our team and help lead projects from start to finish.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, experienced, and hands-on Landscape Construction Lead / Foreman who can lead a crew while actively working alongside them. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, communicates effectively, and has the ability to keep projects organized, efficient, and on schedule.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delegating tasks, maintaining quality standards, ensuring job site safety, and working closely with management to complete projects efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a landscape construction crew on a daily basis
• Delegate work and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently
• Read and interpret project plans, layouts, and construction drawings (preferred)
• Perform and oversee site preparation, grading, excavation, and base installation
• Install interlocking stone, patios, walkways, driveways, and steps
• Construct retaining walls and garden walls
• Assist with concrete forming and finishing
• Install sod, topsoil, and final grading
• Build wood fences, decks, and other outdoor structures (asset)
• Operate construction equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensure projects meet company quality standards
• Communicate progress, material needs, and job updates with management
• Train and mentor crew members
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
• Troubleshoot issues in the field and provide practical solutions

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of landscape construction experience
• Previous experience leading a crew or acting as a foreman
• Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods and best practices
• Experience with:
• Site preparation and grading
• Interlocking stone installation
• Retaining wall construction
• Concrete work
• Sod installation
• Experience building decks and fences is considered a strong asset
• Ability to read landscape plans and construction drawings is an asset
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and performing manual labour throughout the day
• Valid G Driver's Licence (DZ licence is an asset)
• Reliable transportation to our shop or designated meeting location

Equipment Experience

Applicants should be comfortable operating or have experience with equipment such as:

• Skid Steers
• Mini Excavators
• Plate Compactors
• Jumping Jack Tampers
• Concrete Saws
• Cut-Off Saws
• Power Wheelbarrows
• Laser Levels
• Various hand and power tools used in landscape construction
