Position: Journeyman Carpenter
Department: Reconstruction
Reports To: Reconstruction Manager / Project Manager

Position Summary

The Journeyman Carpenter is responsible for completing residential and commercial reconstruction projects following fire, water, storm, and other property damage. This role performs high-quality carpentry work, leads by example on job sites, and ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Paul Davis quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform all aspects of residential and commercial carpentry, including framing, finishing, drywall, doors, trim, flooring, cabinetry, and minor concrete work.
Complete repairs and reconstruction according to project specifications, building codes, and company standards.
Read and interpret drawings, scopes of work, and work orders.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site.
Operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Identify deficiencies or changes in scope and communicate them to the Project Manager.
Mentor apprentices and labourers while promoting safe work practices.
Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, and team members.
Accurately complete daily documentation, time records, and material tracking.
Participate in an on-call rotation and work overtime when required.

Qualifications

Alberta Journeyman Carpenter Certificate or recognized equivalent.
Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a satisfactory driver's abstract.
Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods and Alberta building codes.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship.
