Sicom Industries, a division of Boundary Mining Group is looking to hire a First Year Machinist Apprentice who has recently completed their Machinist Foundations program.

Job Description:

Reporting
to the Lathe & Manual Department Manager, the Machinist Apprentice will be responsible for setting up and operating a range of new
CNC or manual machines including lathes (VTL's) and/or milling
centers. Successful applicants will be immediately working on CNC/manual
machines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating and

setting up CNC mills or lathes (or manual lathes and mills)

• Editing and

optimizing CNC programs

• Calculating

mathematical formulas to determine part dimensions

• Performing

inspection on completed parts

• In this

role, your strong organizational and communication skills will
also serve you well.

• Most importantly,

Qualifications & Skills:

• Completed the Machinist Foundations program from BCIT, KPU, or another technical institute.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable

transportation to get to and from work is required.

• Organized, self-motivated, and hardworking.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to

work in a team environment.

• Dependable and consistent in attendance,

quality, and productivity.

• Eager to learn, curious, and asks questions.

Working Conditions:

• General manufacturing / machine shop

environment.

• ISO9001 and AS9100 environment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for

extended periods of time.
